The CSM Outreach Music Service (OMS)  provides music tuition for pupils at participating schools around Canterbury.

Students attend instrumental lessons at appropriate times in their own school during the week instead of usual CSM Saturdays and week day classes at its Barbadoes Street Music Centre.

When the OMS students are sufficiently experienced they can join CSM orchestras and ensembles for no extra cost. All of the OMS students are invited each year to join in the CSM's grand showcase concert at the Christchurch Town Hall.
