The course is available to students from CSM and beyond who have a proven record of musical excellence and wish to learn the elements of conducting with opportunities to rehearse small groups as part of the course.

Size of class: 6 to 10

Duration: 1 hour per week

A minimum performance standard of grade 8 equivalent is set as a prerequisite and some knowledge of score reading will be of advantage but entry to this course will be assessed on an entrance examination which will be at about NCEA level 2 .
