Composition classes are an hour long and run on a Thursday evening  with a maximum of 5 per class. Students are encouraged to develop their own work as well as complete prescribed tasks during the course. Students may opt to write acoustically or for computer - the department has a computer suite running Sibelius software and Roland synthesizers. Course members should be proficient in at least one instrument and some theoretical knowledge would be an advantage. The course is ideal as a supplement to School Certificate, Bursary or University level music or as recreation for anyone interested in creating their own music.
