Christchurch School of MusicCSM's unique teaching programme includes lessons and ensemble playing. Each student has one lesson a week and as soon as they are ready they are placed in a suitable performing group. Participation in an orchestra, band or ensemble is included in the lesson fee.
As they progress, CSM students are offered the opportunity to sit examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Trinity Guildhall, or the St Cecilia School of Music examination boards. Examinations are held in the familiar environment of the Christchurch Music Centre.
For students in remote locations, CSM is able to provide lessons over the Internet. All students need is a good broadband Internet connection and a simple webcam.
To enquire about learning an instrument, contact the relevant supervisor via the CSM office.
