Christchurch School of MusicEnrolments are taken from November to January for whole-year or semester one courses and in June for semester two. Late enrolments may be accepted at other times, depending on class availability, and a late fee may apply.
Please enrol as early as possible, as there are entry limitations for some courses and preference will be given to those enrolling early. Whole-year fees are discounted by $20 per class or $10 per semester if paid before classes start.
Send one completed enrolment form per student to the CSM office, accompanied by payment of at least one term's fees. Visa or Mastercard are accepted and EFTPOS is available in the office. please be aware that if using an overseas credit card the price advertised might not be the same price charged to the credit card account due to exchange rate fluctuations. This means that because we are based in New Zealand we have to convert your purchase to New Zealand dollars at the exchange rate on the day it is processed.
Those who are unable to pay fees in full should contact the Office with a view to obtaining approval to pay by instalments. The School reserves the right to decline applications to pay by instalment; for example where previous problems have arisen due to late or non-payment of agreed instalments. Instalments must be by regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments, preferably by automatic payment, and must be paid in full by April 30 for Semester One courses and September 30 for Semester 2 and Whole Year courses.
Financial Assistance is available in special cases and applications should be completed on the relevant form and submitted with the completed enrolment form by 1 March.
Instrument hire fees must be paid and a Hire Agreement completed before an instrument can be issued.
Once students have been allocated to classes and performing groups, they will be notified of their tuition class(es) and performing group(s), along with venues and times.
Students wishing to withdraw must complete a Withdrawal Form by 28 February (or July 31 for Semester 2 courses). Except in very special circumstances fees for Whole Year and Semester 1 courses will not be refunded or remitted after February 28. Semester 2 fees will not be refunded after July 31.
